Over the past few weeks, we have been designing our website using Wix. Throughout this process, I found both positive and challenging aspects. On the positive side, creating a website has proven to be a valuable experience. It allows me to organize all my projects in one place, making it easier to view my progress. Additionally, knowing that my work would be exposed to my classmates and professor increased my awareness of potential mistakes. This encouraged me to focus on designing a clear and navigable structure that would enhance the user experience.

One of the most enjoyable aspects of this project was presenting my reflection on ChatGPT and Writing using images and dynamics elements. This activity made the writing process more engaging and fun. I believe this method of learning is beneficial and I would encourage my students to use the platform Wix in English. By navigating the platform in the English version, they can expand their vocabulary while developing technological skills. Furthermore, this task could be particularly entertaining to students who enjoy blogging or have an interest in technology.

Despite these positive aspects, I also faced some significant challenges. Initially, understanding how Wix works was overwhelming. I remember I used Wix in the past, but it was several years ago. For that reason, I spent a considerable amount of time exploring the different tools and features available. However, after familiarizing myself with the platform, I became more comfortable with modifying my pages and adding animations to make my website visually appealing.

A key learning experience occurred when I selected my first template. Although it looked aesthetically pleasing, I soon realized that it was difficult to customize according to my needs. As a result, I had to start over with a different template. At first, I felt disappointed because I had already invested a lot of time in the initial design. Finding a suitable template was time-consuming, but in the end, I was able to create a well-structured website that met my expectations. This experience taught me the importance of simplicity in design. If I were to introduce Wix to my students, I would also advise them to keep their designs simple and user-friendly. After all, the main goal is to showcase their texts and projects in a clear and readable way.

At one point, I even considered switching from Wix to Google Sites. When my classmate Jordi introduced us to Google Sites, I found it much easier to use and understand. However, Wix offers dynamic features that I really enjoyed, so I decided to give it another try. I am glad I did because, initially, I felt frustrated and questioned my technical skills. Nevertheless, by continuing to explore the platform, I was able to design my website successfully. Overcoming these challenges gave me a sense of accomplishment.

Website Building

In conclusion, designing a website using Wix was both rewarding and educational experience. Although I faced some challenges, I learned valuable lessons about web design, problem-solving, and perseverance. This experience improved my digital skills and also provided me with insights into how I might use similar projects into my own teaching practice.
